Have you found yourself counting backwards from 10 to maintain your composure because someone was tap dancing on your last nerve? I’ve been there too. However, I’ve learned some better ways to keep my reserves from reaching empty. This way I at least have the energy to walk away from a situation or whoo-sah before reacting. In times as fast as the ones we live in now it can be hard to keep yourself going…enter “self-care.”

“Self-care” is not a replacement for prayer. Spiritual peace and strength come from the Lord when you cast all your cares and worries on Him. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

Self-care is a way of tending to your natural desire to recharge yourself. This can through relaxing activities, beauty tasks, engaging in hobbies, etc. In addition to prayer, this can help you unload some stress after a trying day or give you something relaxing to look forward to.

Step 1: Figure out what makes you smile (whether on the inside or full cheesin’).
Step 2: Create a weekly plan to implement the activities that make you smile.
Step 3: Commit to working your plan.

Seem simpler said than done? With a little planning it’s right in the palm of your hand. You may have to slightly shift your schedule, wake up 15-20 minutes earlier, skip watching that rerun; but hey, aren’t you worth it?!?

Is just thinking about planning stressing you out? We’ve got you covered! Here’s a guide to make this even easier! LIMITED TIME FREE DOWNLOAD of our “How do you care for you?” guide.
